Description
The thin film pressure sensor is a piezoresistive type, also known as a resistive type, which is equivalent to a varistor in the circuit. When the sensor has no external load, the circuit is in a high impedance state (generally greater than 2MΩ). When external pressure is applied to the sensor, the circuit resistance decreases (tens of KΩ or less). Using a multimeter, you can directly read the resistance value by connecting to two external terminals. The resistance value changes correspondingly with the change in external pressure. Pressure and resistance are inversely proportional, and pressure and conductance have a linear relationship, so pressure changes can be inferred based on changes in conductance.

Usage
The resistive film pressure sensor can statically and dynamically test the forward pressure between two surfaces. The ultra-thin thickness (the thinnest sensor thickness is less than 100 microns) is more suitable for testing directly into a small space. The thin film resistive pressure sensor uses silver electrodes, force-sensitive, insulation, and glue to be printed on a double-sided polyester substrate, and then the upper and lower layers of the substrate are face-to-face packaged. It is a cold terminal. The sensor is suitable for testing forces perpendicular to the sensor plane. The two external leads of the sensor are a resistance. Under static (also known as no-load, that is, no force, no bending), the resistance of the sensor is very large (> 2MΩ). After the force is applied to the effective area of the sensor, the corresponding resistance between the two leads of the sensor is reduced. Note
Thin film resistive pressure sensors are neither dynamometers nor strain gauges. Although they have very similar properties, they are still not suitable for accurate measurement and can qualitatively analyze the trend of force changes.
